Getting Started

Do you service my area?

We have Soapy House Cleaners working all over HRM in Halifax, Dartmouth and the surrounding Nova Scotia.

What is included in a standard cleaning?

We will clean your showers, toilets, sinks, and tile walls in bathrooms.

In the kitchen we clean the outside of appliances, tables and chairs, sink, and counters.

We do a general dusting, wipe baseboards and take care of your floors and carpets.

We empty trash, clean windowsills and wipe mirrors.

 

You will need to purchase extras for us to clean inside of appliances and to do deep scrubbings.

How much will it cost?

We charge a flat rate based on the size of your home and any extras you would like. Take a look at the online booking form to get your price quote.

Do you bring your own cleaning supplies, products and equipment?

We can either bring our own supplies or use yours. Our Soapy Cleaners use Eco Works products as well as many others so let us know if you have any preferences. Many of our Soapy Cleaners take the bus so let us know if we can use your vacuum and mop.

Can I request special tasks or extras?

Of course! Many of our cleaners are happy to do yard work, unpack boxes, tidy, and help with all sorts of tasks around the house. We can add on custom extras.

How do I book my first appointment?

Click Book Now and fill out the information in the online form to set up your account and schedule your first booking.

How do I log into my account?

Click Sign In at the top of the web page and enter you email and password (or create a new password) and you will have full access to view bookings and make changes to your account.

How do I change my password?

You can submit a password change request on the customer login page for Soapy Cleaning Company

Pricing & Policies

Is there anything you won’t clean?

For safety reasons we will not clean human or animal waste, or anything infested with bugs. We do not clean anything higher than what we can reach with a step stool,

Do I need a credit card to make a booking?

Yes. We need your credit card information to book an appointment, but you will not be charged until your cleaning is completed.

Can I apply a coupon to an existing appointment?

Absolutely. Simply enter your coupon (giftcard) code into the booking form as you are creating your booking.  Your final price will automatically change to reflect your coupon balance.  At any time you can log into your account and see the balance on any giftcards you have.

Why is the discount code not working?

Some discounts are for first time customers only and some are for recurring customers only. In addition, some discounts are only one-time, and will not work for future service. There might be a couple reasons why a specific discount code no longer works. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Trust & Safety

Can I trust my cleaning professional?

You bet! Once hired, our Soapy Cleaners are required to get a criminal record check.

What happens if something goes wrong during my appointment?

If something goes wrong we’re here to make it right. Please let us know right away and we’ll be there to take care of it.  That’s our promise to you!

Is my billing information kept safe and secure?

We have three levels of security in place. First off our booking page is protected by extended validation ssl. Secondly our booking form has it’s own layer of 256 bit security.  Third, credit card transactions are processed by stripe and is layered on their own 256 security protocol. In addition, no credit card numbers are stored in our system (only a token that allows us to charge the card).  Rest assured we take security very seriously.

What is your 200% satisfaction guarantee policy?

If you aren’t fully satisfied with your cleaning, let us know within 48 hours and we will send a cleaner back to complete the job. If you still aren’t satisfied with the cleaning, we will give you a full refund for the cost of the clean.

Are you insured?

We are fully insured with third party liability and will take can of an accidents in the unlikely case that one occurs.
Our company is registered with the province and all employees are paid a fair wage on the books.

Airbnb Cleaning Service

Is Soapy Cleaning Company just a house cleaning company?

Not at all! We started hiring cleanings to provide turnovers for Airbnb properties with HostOften Property Management. It wasn’t until late that we expanded our residential cleaning services.

Do you provide flat rate cleans?

It’s our specialty! We have experimented with hourly vs flat rate cleanings and concluded that flat rate cleanings are simple, fair and effective when it comes to pricing an Airbnb Turnover Service in Halifax. We are happy to negotiate a price that works best for you so you can add it directly to your listing, and avoid hidden expenses and unexpected bills.

Do you offer frequency discounts for Airbnb Cleans?

We set our Airbnb turnovers at a rate that we feel is acceptable to guests and but offer frequency discounts on top of the base rate. It is assumed that the majority of hosts will use continue to use our services in a recurring matter.

What is an appropriate cleaning fee to add to my listing?

Depending on the size of your place, $90-$135 is typically reasonable. You will find some listings charge $20 or nothing but we feel that these hosts are not properly valuing their time.
A proper Airbnb turnover in Halifax takes 2-5 hours and guests who frequent Airbnb will understand this.

Is same day check in/out a problem?

Not at all! One of the main reasons we created the Airbnb cleaning service is to ensure we would have reliable cleaners available and allow us to maximize our Airbnb occupancy rate.
